Tianjin Zhongmai Group was established in early 1998 in the original name of "Tianjin Development Area China Container Zhihua Industry Co., Ltd." with registered capital of 5 million yuan. As early as the company was established, the senior management made the strategic development plan of "Promoting financing by business and promoting industry by financing".

The group company was founded in July 1999 under full support by the general company and correct leadership of the company, and the name was changed to "Tianjin Zhongmai Group Co., Ltd.". Successful establishment of the group company laid a sound foundation for further development.

In June 2002 the company realized a leap-forward development and its capital was increased to one hundred million yuan and then in July that year it purchased and merged with the Henan Yongan Aluminum Co.,LTD and Henan Yongan Carbon Co.,LTD. Both sides realized re-organization of assets by way of strong-strong unification to supplement each other with each ones strong points. The pattern of single efforts by an enterprise was changed to provide wider development space for the enterprise to go out of the country and make itself larger and stronger.

In April 2003, registered capital of the company was again increased to US$25.75 million with introduction of the Zhongji Interational Hsldings Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) International Container Holding Co., Ltd. as a new shareholder, which made investment of US$ 14 million, injecting new blood to the enterprise for further development. On Feb.22, 2004, the Zhongmai Group successfully purchased the Henan Mianchi Huanghe Aluminum and Electric Power Group.

Zhongmai Group now has strategic resources of aluminum, coal and others, and an optimized industrial chain has been formed from raw material supplies, energy assurance, auxiliary material supplies and product sales to deep processing. Now, the Zhongmai Group can produce electrolytic aluminum 185,000 ton per year and its capacity ranks the seventh all over the country. The products are exempted from inspection by the China customs and have passed ISO9002 national certification.
